Pastoral Care

What Desert Breeze Community Church offers is pastoral care. Our care comes according to the precepts of the “Wonderful Counselor” himself, God. We will take a sleeves-rolled-up, goal oriented approach to helping you navigate life’s challenges. We will set measurable goals and take the journey together.

DBCC has a number of programs and services designed to help people both find recovery and/or become equipped in many areas of life; pre-marital preparation, marriage, family, adolescents, grief/loss, depression, substance abuse, anger, anxiety, codependency, inter-personal relationships, parenting and childhood development.

You don’t have to be sick to want to be better

Our mission is to provide a variety of services to help people of all ages to, not only cope with the difficulties and circumstances in life, but to grow into the whole and healthy person God made you to be.

Services

Individual, Group, and Family Care
Commitment to God doesn’t mean that Christ-followers are exempt from the natural struggles of being human. Sometimes, the answer to people’s problem isn’t simply praying more and reading more of the Bible. Sometimes they need the help that can only be found in community or said another way in relationships. God has equipped individuals at DBCC with the discernment to guide others into healthier ways of relating to God, others, and themselves. It is appropriate to seek the help of others when you find yourself stuck, significantly distressed, and have exhausted all your own alternatives. Chances are good you’ll find someone that has already been there.

We believe the answers to life’s questions are found in the Word of God.

For everything that was written in the past was written to teach us, so that through endurance and the encouragement of the Scriptures we might have hope?.
Romans 15:4

Our ministry pastors are available by appointment to meet with individuals that need some direction – that’s pastoral care. Our pastoral care is intended to help with the immediate pains associated with such things as: marital issues, pre-marital considerations, family, adolescents, grief/loss, depression, substance abuse, anger, anxiety, codependency, inter-personal relationships, financial issues and eating disorders. However, we feel long term life changes happens best in small groups and if necessary with the help of professional counselors. Christ has a specific purpose for the relationships available in the church – in His family.

“Bear one another’s burdens, and so fulfill the law of Christ” Galatians 6:2

Relationship Building Skills, and Spiritual Support
There are as many potential relationship problems within our families and community as there are people. The best way to prevent those problems is to build relationships and improve people’s relational skills. All being parts of one body in Christ, we must all support our members and leaders when the need arrives. In addition to our LIFE Groups, the church facilitates skills in relationship building by offering;

Retreats and Seminars
There is nothing quite so refreshing and rejuvenating as a weekend away with other Christians, where God’s presence in fellowship and growth is experienced. There are countless topics that can be covered and we can provide programs, speakers and planning assistance.

Education and Training

Occasionally, we can all benefit from more focused and specialized education and training, whether it is to sharpen and expand our existing gifts and skills or learn new ones. Listen for new programs to be announced or you may call for scheduled events.

Fees & Support

Your connection to the church is vital and especially during times of revocery, so along with continued pastoral care and support, we often make recommendation to encourage a connection within the church. Although we do not offer professional counseling, based on one’s personal needs and financial resources, on a case-by-case basis, Desert Breeze determines fees for services, if any. We do have a list of licensed and certified professional counseling services that we will refer you to when we feel it is in your best interest to pursue professional counseling. And remember, we’ll walk with you and take the journey together.
