What does the Bible say about giving?
2 Corinthians 8:7 7 Since you excel in so many ways?in your faith, your gifted speakers, your knowledge, your enthusiasm, and your love from us[1]?I want you to excel also in this gracious act of giving. (NLT)

  • FAITH – Giving is an active expression of my faith. It recognizes God as my True Provider. It affirms my confidence in His ability to supply all I need. It is an act of gratitude and dependence. And, it allows me to partner with God and His work through my church and in the world.
  • FAITHFULNESS – Giving requires the highest standard of personal integrity and discipline. It is not a casual or occasional thing. In 2 Corinthians 8-9, the Bible teaches we are to give willingly, generously, and cheerfully. And our pattern should reflect a regular and systematic plan. In Malachi 3:10, we learn God’s standard of the tithe or first tenth being set apart in all of my earnings as a gift to God. Through our tithes and offerings, we prove faithful in the stewardship of all God has provided for us.
  • What is responsible giving? – It is important that you understand that DBCC does not endorse giving with credit cards. We do not feel it honors God or is responsible stewardship to borrow to give.  The use of Debit Cards is acceptable and is not borrowing to give. It is also important to understand that we offer the on-line giving as a convenience. This convenience does however come with a cost. BANK CHARGES – Be aware that about 2.5% of your on-line gifts go toward bank fees. If this is an issue for you, we encourage you to give by cash or check.
