Our Pastors
Ray Davis, Senior Pastor
Ray has been married to his wife Nancy since October 29, 1977 and have three children, Russell, Ryan & Natalie.
Ray’s career-long vision is to help unchurched people live life to it’s fullest through full devotion to Jesus Christ.
He has been deeply involved in church and Christian education for over 40 years and is the founder of DBCC.
Ray is responsible for the general leadership, vision and teaching of the church.
He also enjoys weight training, hiking, vacationing in San Diego, reading great books and hanging out at Starbucks with friends.
Scott Fameli, Executive Pastor
Scott and Karen have been married since April 23, 1983 and have three beautiful daughters: Erin, Amy and Jessica, as well as two sons in law and a beautiful granddaughter Jael.
“I do all I can to insure that our team has the tools, systems and resources for continuing growth and services for a
healthy church family and to provide a safe, friendly and fun environment where people can become fully devoted followers of Jesus Christ.”
Scott brings 23 years of management experience from the Hospitality / Restaurant and Country Club industry.
He is responsible for running the business of the church relative to staff, finances, administration, facilities management and acquisitions.
He enjoys family time, woodworking, hunting, fishing and golf.
Daren Dirksen, Adult Ministries Pastor
Daren loves being married to his wife, Josepha and being a dad to his 5 kids. Together they are all discovering what it means to be fully devoted followers of the Lord Jesus Christ.
He leads the LIFE groups, outreach, leadership development and the college group at DB.
He enjoys eating pie, play UFC-fighting with his boys, watching movies with his daughters, and scaring his wife when she does not expect it. 
He has also been known to introduce himself to others as “Daren”.
It is the prayer of the Dirksen family, that God stirs up in His people, an unquenchable passion for Him in all that they do, and that God is given all the glory (1 Cor 10:31).
Ryan Davis, Youth Pastor
Ryan and his Wife Erin were married on July 1st 2006 and have three boys Braden, Cohen and Griffin.
Ryan joined the staff on May 1st 2009 and heads up our Youth Ministries which include: Junior High and Senior High “Backdraft” (Sunday morning teaching, Wednesday evening bible studies as well as youth get togethers and camps) and Young Life Student Ministries.
Ryan Cook, Worship Pastor
Ryan began attending Desert Breeze in 2000 while still in High School. He was involved in the worship team almost from the start. He met his beautiful wife Jessica at Desert Breeze and they were married in 2007. They now have a lovely daughter Audrey who is daddy’s pride and joy! Aside from spending time with his wife and daughter, Ryan enjoys music, technology and traveling.
“Jesus breaks it down for us: Love God, love people. Jesus built tables, played with kids, spent time with the societal rejects, debated with church leaders, and suffered immense pain on the cross for us. I don’t see where ministry is supposed to be comfortable all the time but it will always end with huge rewards on this side or the other. I’m looking forward to connecting with the great folks that make up Desert Breeze and finding new, innovative ways to make the gospel tangible.”
Ryan & Jessica moved to Oregon for two years in 2009 to plant PDX Bridges church before moving back in 2011.

Matthew Trusela
Matthew has been married to one very AWESOME wife, Debra over 25 years. They have 3 sons, Cecil, Phillip & Mathias and 2 granddaughters, Payton & Amaya.
Hobbies / interests / passions are God’s word, My wife, Marriage Ministry, Ministry in general, Eldership, Wife (again), Granddaughters, Racquetball, Scuba/ Snorkeling, Landscaping, Business /Work
Dan Finnman
Dan & Vicki have been married for over 29 years. They have one married son and two married daughters and three grandchildren. Dan’s hobbies are Hiking, Fishing and Biking.
Darrel Miller
Darrel and his wife Beth have been married over 29 years. they have 3 sons. They have been attending Desert Breeze for over 15 years. Darrel’s hobbies are guitar repair and construction.
Rich Wilson
Rich and wife Jean have been married since June 1997. they are a blended family of 5 Children, 12 Grandchildren and 6 Great Grandchildren. they have been attending Desert Breeze since 1999. Rich’s hobbies are electric cars & trains, woodworking & hot rods and Jean enjoys arts & crafts & scrapbooking.
Brian Newsome
Brian & Carolyn have been married for over 18 years. they have been attending Desert Breeze for over 8 years. Brian’s hobbies are hunting and fishing.
Don Miles
Don & Valerie have been married since 1988. they have three children – one daughter and two sons. they have been attending Desert breeze since 2006. Don’s hobbies are distance running, golf & tennis. Valerie’s are fitness, computers and photography.
Children’s Ministry
Jo Dirksen
Director of Children’s Ministries
Jo Dirksen and her husband Daren were married on September 28, 1997 and have 5 kids – Taylor, Meliah, Gavin, Zane & Kai.
They have attended DBCC since 2003.
As the Director of our Children’s Ministry, Jo has a huge heart for the children of DBCC.
Her team provides a safe and structured place for infants through 5th grade.
Every week under Jo’s care the children are loved with the love of Christ and learn about Him.
Jo is supported by three part time staff members…
Daria Cordova - 1st – 5th Grade
Daria and her husband Manuel have been married since 1995 and have three daughters - Isabela, Karina & Malena.
They began attending Desert Breeze in 2001 when she was pregnant with daughter Karina.
In her spare time Daria enjoys spending time with her family, dates with her husband, reading, board games with her daughters, camping and exercise!
Dave Grzenia – Preschool
Dave and Stacy have been married since 1990 and have 3 daughters and one son.
They began attending Desert Breeze in January of 2005.
In Dave’s spare time he enjoys running and volleyball.
Kim Holloran - Nursery and Toddlers
Kim and husband Dan have been married since October of 1998. They have one daughter and one son.
They have been attending Desert Breeze since 1995.
Kim’s hobbies are making beaded jewelry and scrapbooking.

Nancy Davis
Admin. Assistant
Nancy has assisted Ray during the early years of Desert Breeze. She has been involved in all aspects of church life.
She enjoys hiking, reading, having coffee with friends and opening up their home to family and friends.
Her life verse is Philippians 1:6 ‘Being confident of this very thing, that He who has begun a good work in you will complete it until the day of Jesus Christ.’
Karen Fameli
Admin. Assistant
Karen and husband Scott have been married since April of 1983. They have three daughters, two sons-in-law and one beautiful granddaughter!
She likes working behind the scenes and filling in wherever she can to keep the church running smoothly.
She enjoys cooking, camping and hanging out with friends. But is especially blessed by spending time with her husband, kids and granddaughter!
Charlene Hillis
Adult Ministries Coordinator
Charlene has been married to Rod since 1984 and they have 2 sons and one daughter. They have been attending Desert Breeze since 2007 and appreciate the opportunities for spiritual growth through challenging biblical teaching, Christ-centered worship and building relationships with other believers.
Charlene has been a stay-at-home Mom for 20+ years and feels that her part-time job at Desert Breeze is a perfect fit! She assists Daren Dirksen in his calling as Adult Ministries Pastor through various administration tasks and preparations for ministry. charlene@dbcc.com
